Strengthening Ties with the Macedonian Diaspora: Official Visit to Croatia and Slovenia

Mr. Boshnjakovski and Mr. Grozdanov recently conducted an official visit to the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Slovenia, aimed at deepening cooperation with the Macedonian diaspora and strengthening institutional ties.

As part of the visit, they met with the Embassies of the Republic of North Macedonia in Zagreb and Ljubljana, where they held constructive and cordial meetings with the diplomatic staff. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, addressing issues relevant to the Macedonian diaspora, and exploring future opportunities for cooperation in the areas of law, culture, and shared values.

The visit was made even more symbolic by the fact that it coincided with the celebration of Saints Cyril and Methodius Day, the great Slavic educators and protectors of Macedonian literacy, spirituality, and identity. In honor of the holiday, the delegation attended a Holy Liturgy at the Church of St. Zlata of Meglen in Zagreb, which was particularly meaningful as it also marked the two-year anniversary of the church’s opening. The event was filled with joy, spirituality, and a profound sense of pride in our community.

The delegation also attended Holy Liturgy at the Macedonian Orthodox Church in Ljubljana, where, alongside fellow Macedonians, they experienced the spirit of unity, faith, and love for Macedonian roots. Such moments serve as reminders of the values that bind us together, regardless of where we live.

Beyond the spiritual dimension, meetings were held with Macedonian cultural associations in Zagreb, Ljubljana, and Kranj, where in an atmosphere of sincerity, ideas and initiatives were exchanged for improving the position of the diaspora.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to:

  • Our Embassies in Zagreb and Ljubljana for the warm welcome and professionalism;
  • The Macedonian Orthodox Church for its spiritual care and presence;
  • The Macedonian cultural associations for their dedication, hospitality, and love for the homeland.

This visit reaffirmed the importance of close cooperation between Macedonian institutions and the diaspora. Together, with heart and dedication, we continue to preserve and promote our values, traditions, and national identity — wherever we may be.

This visit reaffirmed not only the strength of our cultural and institutional ties abroad but also our dedication to the Macedonian communities living outside the country. At our office we remain committed to supporting the Macedonian diaspora through reliable and professional legal services. Whether it involves citizenship by origin, property rights, business registration, or other legal matters, we are here to help our fellow Macedonians navigate the legal system and stay connected to their roots.
